Barbara Weissberger

An ongoing series developed in Montana, Virginia, Hoboken and Pittsburgh, that considers the American landscape, literally and metaphorically, through images of the natural and built worlds. 

Collage provides the basis for the watercolor and graphite works on paper; in some pieces collaged elements are added back into drawn areas.  Source materials include my own photographs and found images of meat, muscle, trucks, cars, heaps of tires, fungus, flora, sky and a growing collection of vivid imagery.
